Exodus 35 - Let The Willing Giving Begin!
Moses gathered all the congregation of the Israelites together and told them the words which the Lord commanded them to do. Work was allowed for six days, but the seventh day was to be a holy day for them, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord. Whoever did any work on the Sabbath was to be put to death. Wow! How many of us would now be dead? They weren't even allowed to kindle a fire in their dwellings on the Sabbath day. Moses also told the Israelites that the Lord commanded that an offering be taken for Him from whoever was of a willing heart to bring gold, silver, and bronze . Other offering materials were to be blue, purple and scarlet thread , fine linen , goats' hair , ram skins dyed red , badger skins , acacia wood , oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense , onyx stones , and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate .
